2012 Holiday Lights Instructions

The Holiday Lights Luminaries are little candle lanterns made from small paper bags that line the streets of Sibley Forest every year in December. The Sibley Forest Women’s Club carries out this tradition; thank you for your participation to light up our streets.
HELPFUL HINTS:
BAG - Fold down the top of the white paper bag to create a cuff to give extra stability to the bag. The number of bags provided is based on the amount of curb lines on your property.
SAND - Pick up enough sand (1 cup per luminary bag) at the SF Clubhouse parking lot (available starting Friday November 30) to the right of the trash/dumpster area. Place 1 cup of sand in each white bag.
CANDLE –
â— Trim candle wick to ¼ inch for longer burning
â— Place each candle inside the paper cup and position the cup in the center of the bag on top of the sand.
â— NOTE: Some people put ½ tsp water in each cup for fire safety
PLACEMENT OF LUMINARIES
â— Place prepared luminaries parallel to the curb cracks along the streets on front and/or side of your home
â— Use extended lighters to light the candles
â— Never place luminaries near leaves or debris
